Wandering Wyoming...

Need to backtrack at this point.  I made a pledge to myself on this leg of the journey to be chronological and so far I have.  So if this posting seems like connective tissue without much meat, that because it is in order to stick to the time line.  While writing the Hulett/Devil's Tower post, I seemed to imply that the time between Lander and Hulett were kind of a blur with a two day layover in Glenrock at the Higgin's Hotel.  On replaying the tapes, I found that we did come across some points of interest in the vast expanse of unfathomable wilderness that is Wyoming.

Traveling east on the 287/789, we intersected with the 220 which goes more east north east which is kind of hard to put on a sign...

the junction of which seems to be called 3 Forks, a local that consisted of one gas station/minimart that was up for sale, and 3 or 4 widely dispersed houses and not much more except this great sign which does not designate anyplace we could find on the map...

took a picture, and then headed north east into Caspar which was ok, but no place we wanted to spend 2 days so it was on to Glenrock where we were quite happy.  The Higgin's was old and kind of basic, but nicely restored and quite popular with the more refined locals.  From there we took Highway 25 for about 30 miles to the 59 north.

I know the sign says Montana, and it was taken there, but it is the same 59 that traverses both states and the view was not too different.  Took the 59 to the 450 which was just supposed to be a short eastward jog to get us to the 116 which would bring us into the Devil's Tower area.  But we were not prepared for the surprise awaiting us on the 450.
